Nicky is a coppersmith and jewellery designer/maker in Plymouth making earthy, organic jewellery and quirky spoons mainly in copper, but sometimes silver.
Inspired by sun dried seed pods, shattered rock formations and weathered driftwood, she often reclaims her copper from old plumbing pipe and uses traditional techniques such as fold forming and air chasing to manipulate the metal into dimensional and very tactile pieces of “art” jewellery, each one a unique and beautiful statement.
Her gorgeous spoons have a stylish simplicity to them and are a delight to use.
Her workbench is deliberately kept low tech and she enjoys reclaiming old tools because, she says “they always produce the best and most interesting results!”
Nicky has recently started enamelling and is delighted to bring new colour to her work. A journey just begun – there are many new possibilities on the horizon for this exciting technique using both torch and kiln. Click the YouTube link above for demonstation videos.
Love it! Bought for my fiance as a present, we love repurposed things! Very quickly bought a second after it arrived because my Dad got a bit jealous haha. Lovely product!
Absolutely thrilled! They're so beautiful and are an extra treat to go with the steel chopsticks I bought (by request!) for my son's special birthday!
